7000 Big is a suspended canopy of pleated fabric, the pleats carefully set and finished at the edge with black grosgrain — a ribbon detail borrowed from tailoring rather than from lighting.

The fabric is lit from behind, so the pleating shows as alternating light and shade across the surface. A flat shade would give an even glow; the pleats are what make the fitting read as a texture.
