430 Opera is a shell chair: seat, back and sides are formed as one curved piece that wraps around the sitter rather than being assembled from separate panels. Legs are Canaletto walnut, cut fine and left plain.

The shell is soft and upholstered, so the enclosure is comfortable rather than rigid. It is offered as a chair and as a small armchair — the armchair version simply extends the shell further forward.
