Flou Beds & Furniture: Authorized Retailer in Los Angeles

Flou treats sleep like a craft. Since 1978, the brand has been building beds that feel tailored rather than assembled and then expanding that same philosophy into a full ecosystem of furniture, mattresses, storage systems, and textiles so the entire room works as one considered whole. If you’re looking for a Flou bed, a Flou sofa, or the complete sleep system, Melaaura is Los Angeles’s authorized Flou retailer, carrying the full collection at our West Hollywood showroom at 154 S Robertson Blvd.

What you’ll find here is the real thing: authentic Flou furniture Italy, made to order in your chosen fabric, leather, or finish, with white-glove delivery and design consultation. Trade pricing is available for designers and hospitality projects.

About Flou: Italian bedroom design since 1978

The origin story is the Flou Nathalie; a textile bed designed by Vico Magistretti with fully removable, washable covers that made maintenance simple without sacrificing elegance. It was the first modern upholstered bed of its kind and it changed residential bedroom design permanently. From that single idea, Flou built one of the most coherent collections in Italian furniture: over 40 bed models, a mattress system engineered as thoughtfully as the frames, and living room and outdoor pieces that carry the same quiet, resolved aesthetic throughout.

The reason Flou keeps appearing on the shortlists of serious designers and discerning buyers is straightforward, which is comfort first, design that ages well, and practical details like removable covers, hidden storage bases, and motion platforms that make daily life genuinely easier. You don’t grow out of a Flou bed. You grow into it.

Flou beds: the complete collection

The Flou bed range covers every style of bedroom and every kind of sleeper. The standout models available at Melaaura:

Flou Nathalie: the original. A softly padded upholstered bed with signature bow-tied removable covers and an optional adjustable headboard angle. Still the benchmark for textile beds, still the most requested.

Flou Yuna : designed by Carlo Colombo in 2024. A grand, generous headboard with two gently curved panels extending to the sides of the base. Fabric front, leather back, the contrast is the detail. Made for rooms that can hold its scale.

Flou Amal: slim metal profiles framing soft upholstery. Architectural without being cold. The choice for modern rooms that want precision without stiffness.

Flou Angle: a quilted, tailored headboard that reads fashion-forward without dating itself. Available with or without side panels.

Flou Icon: clean geometry, low profile, architectural stance. For minimalist spaces where the bed is meant to ground the room rather than dominate it.

Flou Gaudí: solid ash wood in natural, coffee, or black stain. Designed by Matteo Nunziati. The warmest, most organic thing in the Flou collection, and the one that works best in California interiors with natural light and neutral materials.

Flou Sommier: a fully upholstered divan base, designed in 1987, that disappears elegantly into a room. Available with integrated storage. The right answer for minimalists and small bedrooms.

Flou Duetto: transforms from sofa to dormeuse to one or two beds within the footprint of a single bed. Two drawers underneath. The smartest piece in the collection for guest rooms and studio apartments.

All Flou beds are available with optional storage bases (base con contenitore) and can be configured in hundreds of fabric and leather combinations. Made to order in Italy.

Flou mattresses: the Leonardo sleep system

Under every Flou bed frame is a sleep system, not just a mattress. Flou’s Total Body concept treats the base, mattress, topper, pillow, and bedding as a coordinated whole, each layer engineered to work with the others. The flagship Leonardo mattress is handmade to measure by artisans in Italy, using pocketed springs, horsehair, cotton, hemp, Talalay latex, and cashmere. Firmness can be split by side so two people with different needs share one bed without compromise.

For those comparing Flou mattress prices, the honest framing is this: you’re not buying a mattress, you’re specifying a sleep environment. The Memoform series and B-Air model offer hybrid constructions for those who want the precision of modern foam engineering with the breathability of natural materials. Ask our team at Melaaura to walk you through the options, configuration matters here more than almost any other purchase in the room.

Flou sofas and living room furniture

The Flou sofa collection carries the same DNA as the beds, bedroom-grade comfort, Italian tailoring, and a design language that keeps a room looking resolved rather than assembled. Key pieces:

Flou MyPlace: a deep, modular sofa system that scales to the room. The most requested Flou living room piece for open-plan Los Angeles homes.

Flou Doze: bed-level support in a chaise format. For rooms where the line between living and resting is meant to blur.

Flou Céline and Piazza Duomo: sofa beds that convert without looking like they have a secret. The elegant answer to the guest room problem.

Flou Binario: a linear, clean-lined sofa for plans where simplicity is the brief.

All Flou sofas are available in the same fabric and leather libraries as the beds, making whole-room coordination straightforward.

Natevo by Flou: Furniture with Light Built in

Under the Natevo label, Flou’s dedicated lighting-furniture line, beds, consoles, night tables, and bookcases are built with integrated LED lighting that illuminates the room without a lamp in sight. The Chiaro di Luna bedside table is the icon: warm, dimmable light built into a nightstand that actually earns its space. The CCLight bookcase turns storage into a light source. It’s a quieter, cleaner way to manage atmosphere, with less clutter, more intention.

Natevo pieces share Flou’s Italian manufacturing and design language, so they sit naturally alongside any Flou bed without the room feeling like it was assembled from two different houses.

Flou designs a full range of luxury furniture centered around sleep and complete home living, including beds and mattresses, sofas and armchairs, nightstands and storage pieces, tables and desks, accessories, and outdoor furniture—offering cohesive collections for bedrooms, living spaces, and open-air environments with a strong focus on comfort and wellness.
Yes — Flou’s outdoor furniture is suitable for the California climate, but with some nuances. Their outdoor collections are specifically designed with weather‑ready materials and technical fabrics that make them fit for outdoor use, with performance fabrics, water‑repellent covers, and frames engineered to handle sun and moisture exposure. However, Flou’s outdoor pieces tend to emphasize comfort, style, and refined materials rather than being purely rugged patio furniture, so while they work well for California’s sun, mild rain, and coastal conditions, they benefit from good care and protective covers when not in use to keep them looking their best long‑term
