About Cuvee Sofa
Designed by Jamela Alawneh for Melaaura, the Cuvee Sofa stretches the collection’s blended weave across a full three-seat frame. Like its companion lounge chair, it takes its name from the winemaker’s cuvee — a composition of the very best — and composes its own blend in rattan: densely hand-wrapped cane on the low flared arms and sides, opened up by long colonnades of slender spindles across the backrest and around the double-banded plinth.
The low, raked back and outward-leaning arms give the sofa an easy, garden-room posture, while the continuous spindle galleries let light travel through the frame so even the full three-seat length never feels heavy in a room. A single long bench cushion runs the full width of the seat — no seams to sink between — topped with a run of loose back pillows and scatter cushions in the collection’s watercolour botanical print of leaf greens, terracotta, ochre and dusty blue on ivory.
The natural rattan frame is finished in a pale honey tone that warms with age; cushions are tailored with clean knife edges over high-resilience foam with a feather-soft wrap. Intended for indoor and covered lounge settings.
