3600 Tangram is outlined by flat bands worked in a contrasting colour. The band traces the edge of the form, so the sofa bed is read as a drawn shape — a line around a soft mass — rather than as a block of upholstery.

Behind the graphic edge the padding is deliberately soft, which is the contrast the design depends on: a hard outline over a yielding surface.
