About Morbido Rectangle Coffee Table
Designed by Jamela Alawneh for Melaaura, the Morbido Rectangle Coffee Table brings natural stone into the collection’s warm timber language. A long, low slab of honed travertine rests on four solid teak columns above a plinth base — stone floating over wood, with a clean shadow line between the two that gives the piece its quiet architectural presence.
Travertine has furnished courtyards and terraces since antiquity. Each slab is cut from natural stone and honed to a soft matte finish, its surface carrying the mineral veining and open pores that no two slabs repeat — a depth and variation no manufactured surface reproduces. Sealed for life outdoors, the stone takes sun, rain, and the heat of a summer afternoon in stride.
The base is Grade A teak, the dense, oil-rich heartwood classification used throughout the collection, composed with the same clean geometry as the larger Morbido pieces and finished with a protective varnish. Like every teak element in the range, it lives outdoors year-round — holding its golden tone with simple care or weathering to an elegant silver-grey.
Stretched to run the full length of the Morbido 3-Seater Sofa or sectional, the rectangular top keeps its profile low and its surface generous — the plinth below holding books and trays close at hand while the stone carries everything an afternoon outside requires.
Each table is made to order.
