5500 Soap has a headboard cut wider than the bed frame it sits behind. That overhang is the design: the headboard reads as a separate soft panel the bed is set against, rather than as the end of the bed itself.

The edges are rounded and the padding deep, so the whole headboard is a single soft volume with no hard corner anywhere — which is where the name comes from.
