85 Shell is a kit of two module types — curved and straight — that combine into either a seating run or a low base with no back at all. The curved units are what let a Shell layout turn a corner as an arc instead of a right angle.

Frames are wood with foam seats. Because the same modules make both a sofa and a backless platform, one Shell scheme can hold a conversation group at one end and an occasional perch at the other, in one continuous line.

Designed by Gianluigi Landoni. Worth considering for a room with a curved wall, a bay, or an open plan that needs seating without a hard edge.
