9810 Next is a burnished metal frame containing a canvas volume that is lit from within. The light source is not visible at any point — what hangs is a glowing solid, edged by dark metal.

Backlighting fabric rather than pointing a lamp at a surface gives an even, diffused output with no hotspot, which is why the fixture reads as a luminous block rather than as a light.
