About MrX

Design

The Talenti MrX brings a crisp, architectural take to the classic sunshade. Designed by Marco Acerbis, it borrows the quiet order of pergolas and pares it back to a clean, modern silhouette. Lines are lean. Proportions are thoughtful. Closed, it reads as a slim, sculptural column. Open, it spans generously without visual noise.

The compass opening system is the clever heart of the piece. A simple turn of the handle sets the canopy in motion, unfolding with a smooth, precise arc. The result is straightforward shade when needed, and a compact footprint when not. No drama, just a smart, space-conscious gesture.

Materials & Build

The frame is extruded aluminum, selected for strength and consistent finish. It’s light for its size yet reassuringly solid in use. Surfaces sit tight and true, with a refined feel to every edge. Finishes are considered and easy to integrate—white and graphite among them—so the MrX sits comfortably in both bright and muted schemes. Nothing fussy, everything useful.

Comfort & Use

Shade is broad and pleasantly even, the kind that makes a hot afternoon feel manageable. The handle-driven compass mechanism keeps operation simple and controlled—open for lunch, close when the light softens. A dedicated cover is available for when the season changes, keeping the canopy protected and ready. It’s not a stackable piece, and it doesn’t need to be; it stands on its own with purpose.

Placement & Lifestyle

On a terrace, by the pool, or framing an outdoor dining area, the MrX brings order without crowding the view. It pairs well with clean-lined lounges and teak settings alike, adding shade without visual bulk. Scale is generous yet balanced, measuring approximately 167.3 inches wide by 174.4 inches deep by 90.6 inches high, and weighing about 132.3 pounds. That presence feels deliberate—substantial enough to anchor a space, restrained enough to keep it calm.

Use one to define a seating zone, or set two in dialogue across a larger patio. The language is modern but not severe, which makes it easy to live with. And because the form is quiet, textiles and planters can do the talking around it.

Longevity

Built in aluminum to handle everyday use, the MrX favors durable materials over ornament. Finishes are designed to look good for the long run, and the available cover adds practical protection between seasons. It’s a clear expression of Talenti’s focus on design that works—considered, resilient, and easy to keep in circulation year after year. When a piece is this straightforward, it tends to stay.
