About Crystal Rock Portable Lamp
Design
The Crystal Rock Portable Lamp by Lasvit extends Arik Levy’s crystalline language into an easy, everyday companion. The sculpted form reads as a shard of light resting just above its base, crisp yet weightless. In blue, it carries a calm presence by day and a livelier pulse after dusk. The facets catch surrounding light, bending it, scattering it, then gathering it again. Nothing fussy, nothing loud. Just a disciplined silhouette that plays with contrast—light versus shadow, solid versus air.
Materials & Build
A hand‑blown glass body in blue sits over a matte black lacquered frame finished to RAL 9005. The surfaces are clean, the geometry precise, the hardware kept discreet so the glass can lead. As with all handmade glass, subtle bubbles and tonal shifts may appear; they’re part of the making, and part of the appeal. This is the Base Size variation—streamlined, balanced, and easy to place without dominating the scene.
Light & Comfort
Illumination feels considered rather than aggressive. The facets moderate brightness, giving a layered glow with soft edges and clear accents. Eyes rest easily on it. Up close, the glass throws gentle reflections that animate a tabletop or shelf. From across the room, it reads as a calm beacon. By day, it captures ambient light and adds quiet movement. At night, once lit, the piece becomes more dynamic, the internal reflections deepening and shifting as you pass.
Placement & Lifestyle
Portable by design, it goes wherever it’s needed—on a bedside, an entry console, a living room credenza, or a corner of the home office. The scale invites casual moves, not rearrangements. Blue pairs well with pale neutrals, warm woods, and matte metals; it also sharpens cool palettes without feeling icy. One looks considered on its own. Two create a subtle conversation across a space. For gatherings, it turns a dining table or bar into a small stage, then tucks back onto a shelf when the night is over.
Longevity
Glass and a lacquered metal base keep the build straightforward and durable. Care is simple: a soft, dry cloth for the frame and a gentle wipe for the glass. Treat it as the handcrafted object it is, and it will age gracefully. Small variations from the furnace ensure no two Crystal Rock pieces are exactly alike, which keeps the relationship personal over time—familiar, but never dull.
