About Diesis Bookshelve

Design

Diesis, designed by Boatto Martino Studio for Capital, takes the idea of a bookcase and pares it back to clean, architectural lines. The structure is modular and offered in three versions – .A, .B and .C – so it can be composed as a single, statement wall or broken into lighter, repeated elements. Vertical fronts trace a clear rhythm, while the generous bronzed glass shelves keep the overall look open and airy. The metal-finished joints sit discreetly between the parts, helping the volumes meet with precision rather than weight, giving the piece a composed, contemporary presence.

Materials & Build

The shelves are made in bronzed tempered glass, chosen for both clarity and strength. They carry objects with confidence while keeping the structure visually light. The vertical fronts can be finished in wood, lacquer, or leather, allowing the Diesis bookcase to lean more classic, more minimal, or more tactile depending on the space. Metal details at the joints bring the elements together with a clean, technical note. Nothing feels decorative for its own sake; every component has a clear role in the structure.

Everyday Ease

Although the design is sharp, it stays practical. The open bronzed glass shelves offer broad surfaces for books, objects, or curated displays, without fussy divisions. The vertical fronts frame what is stored, giving a subtle order even when the content is mixed. And the modular nature means the composition can respond to real needs: more storage, more openness, or a balance of the two.

Placement & Lifestyle

Diesis is part of Capital’s BOOKCASE 2024 collection, yet it works comfortably beyond a traditional library setting. It can define a living room wall, act as a quiet backdrop in a dining area, or bring structure to a study. In larger rooms, multiple modules can align to create a continuous architectural element; in smaller spaces, a single configuration is enough to introduce order without imposing bulk. The mix of glass and vertical fronts lets it sit equally well in bright, contemporary interiors and more layered, material-rich environments.

Longevity

The use of tempered glass, wood, lacquer, leather, and metal keeps the piece grounded in durable, proven materials. These finishes are designed to age with use rather than feel temporary. With its modularity, the bookcase can also evolve: elements can be reconfigured as spaces change, extending the life of the original investment. It is a piece intended to remain relevant as interiors shift around it, not to be replaced with every new arrangement.
