The 90 Adele is built around a single gesture: a backrest that rolls over on itself and carries the whole length of the sofa. Behind it, a shelf in Canaletto walnut runs the full width of the piece, so the back of the sofa is finished rather than hidden — which makes Adele work floating in a room, not only against a wall.

The frame is wood, the seat is foam, and the feet are turned wood. The walnut shelf is the one hard surface on an otherwise entirely soft object; it holds a lamp, a book or a glass without a side table being dragged over.
