About Blocco Sideboard
Blocco takes its shape from a single idea: a large volume resting on two supports, presented like an object worth displaying. Alain Gilles designed the collection around that contrast.
The geometries deliberately disagree with each other. A rigorously linear horizontal block sits on supports whose forms are soft and solid, proportioned closely enough to small pillars to carry real architectural weight.
The sideboard is the most substantial piece in the collection and, at the same time, the most pared back. The base comes in two heights — one lower, one more slender — which shifts the visual balance of the whole. Flap doors open easily and cleanly. Finished in glossy lacquered wood, in glossy brown or glossy grey.
