About Morbido Slim Sunbed | Adjustable Outdoor Chaise
The Morbido Slim Sunbed by Melaaura pares the sunbed back to its essentials: an open wooden frame, a single slim mattress, and a bolster headrest. Where the original Morbido Sunbed sits on a solid plinth, this version stands on four squared legs, lifting the mattress clear of the ground and letting light pass beneath it. The result is a lighter, more transparent piece that reads as furniture rather than as a fixture.
The frame is built from solid wood in a warm honey finish, with clean mitred corners and no visible hardware along the rails. The adjustable backrest is carried on a discreet metal mechanism that locks at several reclining angles, moving from flat to upright without breaking the line of the frame. Lowered, the sunbed reads as a single continuous plane; raised, it becomes a chair for reading or conversation.
The mattress is a single generous cushion, thinner than the plinth-based Morbido and tailored tight to the frame, with a cylindrical bolster that fastens across the backrest. Upholstery is fully specifiable: a textured off-white bouclé for a quiet, neutral setting, a terracotta weave for warmth against stone and terracotta paving, or a blue-and-natural stripe for a more graphic, nautical read. All three are shown here on the same frame.
Because the frame is raised and open, the Morbido Slim Sunbed suits settings where the floor matters — timber decking, poolside stone, a lawn edge — and where a heavier, grounded piece would sit too solidly. It is equally at home indoors, in a sunroom or at the foot of a bed.
Built for continuous outdoor use, with a stable frame and performance upholstery specified for exposure. Suited to private residences, boutique hotels, spas, and poolside terraces where the same piece is repeated in a run.
Dimensions and upholstery can be customised to suit the space. Custom sizing is available on request through Melaaura.
