About Toshi Chest of Drawers

Introducing the Toshi Chest of Drawers by Flou, an object of rare material poetry that goes far beyond the conventional bedroom storage piece.

Designed by Carlo Colombo, the Toshi is a chest of drawers that carries itself like a work of decorative art. Its form is rounded and pill-shaped ,soft at every corner, warm in its proportions, and entirely without the hard edges that characterise most storage furniture. In a warm champagne lacquer finish, it sits in a room the way a well-chosen sculpture does: present, purposeful, and pleasure-giving.

The top is the piece’s crowning gesture. A slab of pale green veined marble, its surface threaded with gold and rust, crowns the rounded body with the confidence of something irreplaceable. No two tops will be identical. The material does what only stone can do: it introduces time, geology, and chance into an otherwise perfectly controlled object.

Between body and top, a fine band of polished gold traces the perimeter,a hairline of warmth that separates the two materials while binding the composition together. The drawers themselves glide flush within the body, their divisions barely perceptible, keeping the silhouette uninterrupted from every angle.

As part of Carlo Colombo’s vision for Flou’s bedroom universe, the Toshi introduces a fresh perspective on what storage can mean. It is not merely a chest of drawers; it is an embodiment of the belief that the things we keep our most personal belongings in deserve to be among the most beautiful objects in the room.
