About Olivier Coffee table
Design
Designed by Capital Creative Lab for the 2022 Coffee Tables collection, the Olivier coffee table sits with quiet confidence. Its footprint, roughly 37.8 by 35.4 inches, offers a broad, functional surface without feeling heavy in the room. The height, about 20.5 inches, lines up naturally with most sofas and lounge chairs, so it works in conversation rather than shouting for attention. The silhouette is clean and contemporary, but not stark, allowing the table to slip easily into both modern and more classic interiors.
What defines Olivier is choice. The form stays consistent, while the finishes let the piece lean either minimal, dramatic, or warm and familiar. That flexibility makes it a reliable anchor for living spaces that evolve over time.
Materials & Build
Olivier is built around a clear and simple idea: let materials do the talking. The structure can be finished in metal, wood, or marble, or in combinations that highlight contrasts between cool and warm, glossy and matte. Metals give the table a sleek, architectural presence. Wood introduces natural grain and a softer feel. Marble adds a more substantial, sculpted note.
Each finish is selected to work in real homes, not just in photographs. Surfaces can be glossy for a sharper, more reflective look, or matte when a quieter, more understated expression is preferred. The volume of the piece, just under 18 cubic feet, feels solid yet manageable in scale.
Comfort & Use
A coffee table should simply make daily life easier. Olivier’s proportions keep essentials within easy reach, whether it’s a laptop, a stack of books, or a tray for guests. The generous surface gives room to style objects without sacrificing space for everyday use.
The height works for casual meals in the living room as much as for morning coffee. It is practical enough for family rooms, yet polished enough for a more formal sitting area. Nothing about it feels precious or awkward in use.
Placement & Lifestyle
Olivier by Capital is designed to adapt. In a pared-back space, a metal or marble version becomes the focal point, catching light and framing the seating area. In a layered, softer interior, a wood finish blends in more quietly, supporting textiles and color rather than competing with them.
The table sits comfortably in the center of a sofa arrangement, but it also works slightly off-axis in larger rooms or open-plan layouts. And because the finishes can be tuned to the surroundings, it pairs well with both fabric and leather upholstery, light or dark palettes, city apartments, or larger homes.
Longevity
The strength of Olivier lies in its combination of clear geometry and serious materials. Metals bring durability, wood brings warmth that ages gracefully, and marble, when chosen, offers long-term solidity with a character that develops over the years.
The ability to tailor the finish means the table is less likely to feel out of place as tastes shift. Capital’s approach keeps the design straightforward, avoiding short-lived details. The result is a coffee table meant to stay in the room, not rotate out with the next season’s trends.
