Design

The Diva Sb chair from Capital presents a clean, confident silhouette with quietly elegant lines. The profile is simple at first glance, then reveals a more sophisticated character in the way the seat curves and the back rises. Proportions are generous without feeling bulky, so the chair settles comfortably around the body rather than just under it.

Designed by Boatto Martino Studio for the 2016 Chairs and Stools collection, it balances presence and discretion. At about 35.4 inches high, 22.8 inches wide, and 21.7 inches deep, it fits easily around a dining table, yet has enough volume to hold its own in a more open space.

Materials & Build

The structure is based on a solid wooden frame, giving the Diva Sb a stable, reassuring base. On top sits padding in undeformable polyurethane foam with different densities, shaped to keep its form over time while maintaining a welcoming feel. It avoids the stiffness of a purely formal chair, but also the collapse of something too soft.

Metal feet lift the frame just enough to feel light on the floor and add a subtle contemporary note. With a weight of about 26.5 pounds and a volume of roughly 14.1 cubic feet for handling and transport, the chair feels substantial in use yet still easy to move when the room needs to shift.

Comfort

Diva is designed around an enveloping seat. The backrest wraps gently, supporting without forcing a posture. The seat height sits at around 18.5 inches, a familiar level that pairs comfortably with most dining tables and meeting tables.

The use of polyurethane foam in varying densities means the contact areas feel soft enough at first touch but remain supportive underneath. It is the kind of comfort that invites lingering at the table, rather than a quick sit-and-go.

Placement & Lifestyle

This chair was conceived for versatility. It works as a dining chair in a private home, a statement piece at the head of the table, or as a set around a hospitality or corporate table. The line is neutral, so it blends into both highly designed interiors and quieter spaces.

Finishes in wood, leather, or fabric allow the piece to shift character, from more formal dining to relaxed everyday use. And because the design is intentionally understated, it pairs easily with different table shapes and materials, from solid wood to stone or metal.
