Dafne Chair

About Dafne Chair

Design

Dafne brings a clear, confident line to the dining room. Designed by Boatto Martino Studio, it has a calm presence, never shouting for attention yet hard to overlook. The silhouette is clean, with a measured balance between curves and straight edges that feels instantly current. The eye is drawn to the backrest: a double padded shell that creates a play of solids and voids, a sequence of small and open sections that keeps the chair visually light.

Nothing about the shape is accidental. Each angle serves the idea of a contemporary chair made for conversation, for a table that hosts people who notice detail without needing it explained. It sits comfortably within the Capital collection while still reading as its own character.

Materials & Build

The structure is crafted in wood, giving the chair a stable, reassuring base with a natural warmth. This frame supports the upholstered seat and the distinctive double shell back, which can be finished in leather or fabric. The finishes are chosen to highlight the geometry of the design rather than compete with it.

Every junction is handled with care, from the meeting of legs and seat to the precise stitching on the upholstery. The chair measures about 34.3 inches in height, 26 inches in width, and 22.4 inches in depth, with a weight of roughly 35.3 pounds. It feels substantial, not fragile, yet still easy to move around the table when needed.

Comfort

The proportions of Dafne are tuned for easy, extended sitting. The seat height of around 17.7 inches keeps the posture natural at most dining tables, while the arm height of about 24.8 inches gives the arms a relaxed resting point without locking the body in place. The double padded back adds volume where it matters, so the chair supports rather than simply looks good.

It is a seat made for conversation that lingers past the last course. And it does so without feeling overly formal or too lounge-like; it stays in that comfortable middle ground.

Placement & Lifestyle

In a dining room, Dafne works as a full set around the table or as a pair at the head positions for a more curated look. Its contemporary language is deliberately versatile, meant to sit well next to collected pieces rather than match a single style. The scale is generous enough for a separate reading corner or a small desk, should the room call for it.

With a volume of about 17.7 cubic feet per piece for shipping and planning, it also suits projects where space needs to be calculated with precision. In a home, a gallery-like loft, or a more classical interior, the design adapts without losing its quiet identity. Capital has shaped it for a cultured, cosmopolitan way of living that values both use and appearance.

Longevity

The quality of the wood structure, combined with carefully worked leather or fabric, gives the chair a solid sense of durability. Surfaces are meant to age with use rather than feel temporary. The construction is straightforward and honest, which generally means easier upkeep over the years.

Dafne is not a piece that relies on trend-based details. Its value lies in clear lines, thoughtful padding, and the controlled play of open and closed forms in the backrest. Those elements tend to stay relevant, making the chair a reliable part of the Capital range and of any room it enters, season after season.
