About Giselle 2.5 Bookshelve

Design

Designed by Boatto Martino Studio in 2018, the Giselle 2.5 bookcase gives a clean, architectural read. The structure feels light, almost drawn in the air, yet it has a clear presence on the wall. Vertical lines stay crisp, shelves stay thin and controlled, so books and objects sit in order without visual noise. The design is modular, so it doesn’t look fixed in one role. It can grow, repeat, or stand alone as a single, strong gesture.

Materials & Build

A metal structure forms the backbone of the piece, bringing strength and a precise, linear profile. Panels in matching metal finishes close and frame the composition, giving it a consistent tone from every angle. Wooden shelves introduce warmth and a more tactile note against the cooler frame. At approximately 98.4″ wide, 77.6″ high, and 16.9″ deep, the proportions are generous without feeling heavy. The overall weight is about 540 lb, with a volume close to 70.6 cubic feet, underscoring the solidity behind its light expression.

Everyday Use & Comfort

This is a bookcase meant to be lived with daily. Shelves are open, clear, and easy to reach, so arranging books, objects, and small art pieces feels natural, not precious. The rhythm of metal uprights and wooden planes brings a kind of visual comfort: everything has a defined place, everything reads aligned. And because the structure stays slim, the room still feels open around it.

Placement & Lifestyle

Giselle 2.5 by Capital works best where there is room to appreciate its width: a living room wall, a study, or a generous hallway. It can sit behind a sofa, frame a desk area, or anchor a dining space with books and curated pieces. The modular logic lets it adapt as needs change, from a single long stretch to a more compact composition, always keeping the same calm, ordered look.

Longevity

Metal structure, metal-finished panels, and wood shelves form a straightforward, durable combination. There are no superfluous details, which means fewer elements to date or tire over time. The clear geometry, honest materials, and careful proportions of the Capital bookcase help it stay relevant as interiors evolve, moving easily from one home or setting to the next without losing its character.
