About Hidden Light Floor Lamp
Design
The Hidden Light floor lamp from Lasvit stands as a sculptural presence, not a background piece. Conceived by Henry Wielgus and Jan Plechac, it turns structure and light into one clean gesture. A solid body of clear, hand-worked glass reads almost like masonry, while the metal framework traces a quiet, architectural outline. The base size keeps it approachable yet commanding: about 14.2 inches in diameter and 21.3 inches tall. It sits low, steady, and assured—meant to anchor a room rather than shout in it.
As a single focal point, it delivers a calm intensity. The geometry feels deliberate, the silhouette pure. Nothing extra. Just form, mass, and the quiet confidence to let light do the talking.
Materials & Build
Thick, clear glass is hand-blown into a cage-like metal form, producing an intricate stack of glass blocks that reads as one solid volume. The frame is finished in brushed brass, chosen for its refined warmth and restrained sheen. At roughly 50.7 pounds, the lamp has real substance, and that weight supports its grounded character.
Each piece shows the human hand. Small bubbles or slight shade variations may appear in the glass; they’re part of the making, not flaws. Images are illustrative—no two lamps are exactly the same, and that’s the point.
Light & Comfort
The effect is quietly dramatic. Light moves through the clear glass blocks, catching edges and softening at the same time. The surface detail breaks up glare and creates a comfortable, ambient glow that settles into the space instead of beaming out of it. It’s a lamp that eases the atmosphere—welcoming, reflective, and composed.
There is presence without pressure. In the evening, it becomes a gentle anchor. By day, a sculpted object with clarity and depth.
Placement & Lifestyle
This base-size floor lamp works where a room needs a grounded statement: beside a lounge chair, near a low credenza, or at the edge of an open plan to define a zone. It suits both compact footprints and more generous rooms, thanks to its measured scale and low stance. Place it where texture and weight matter—an entry, a living area, a quiet corner that benefits from a considered piece rather than more furniture.
Hidden Light encourages a slower look. It reads beautifully up close and holds its own from across the room.
Longevity
Built with enduring materials—clear glass and brushed brass—the lamp is designed to live gracefully in daily use. Wipe the glass with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners; the finish needs little more. Expect subtle variations as part of the handcrafted process, including occasional bubbles and tone shifts in the glass. That individuality gives each Hidden Light its character, and keeps it relevant long after trends move on.
