Designed by Jamela Alawneh for Melaaura, the Morbido Side Table is the smallest piece in the collection and, in its materials, one of the most distinctive. A solid Grade A teak base carries a top of glazed lava stone — volcanic rock cut and kiln-fired with a vitrified glaze — bringing a note of mineral colour and craft to the warm timber language of the Morbido range.

Lava stone is among the most durable surfaces used in fine outdoor furniture. Quarried from volcanic rock and fired at high temperature, the glazed surface is impervious to rain, frost, UV, and heat — a wet glass, a hot espresso cup, or a full summer of direct sun leave no trace. The glaze lends the top a subtle depth and variation that no manufactured surface reproduces, with colour specified at the time of order to match or counterpoint its setting.

The base is Grade A teak, the dense, oil-rich heartwood classification used throughout the collection, composed with the same clean geometry as the larger Morbido pieces and finished with a protective varnish. Like every teak element in the range, it lives outdoors year-round — holding its golden tone with simple care or weathering to an elegant silver-grey.

At 17.32 inches long (44 cm), 15.75 inches deep (40 cm), and 16.54 inches high (42 cm), the table is scaled precisely for its role: alongside the Morbido Outdoor 3-Seater Sofa or lounge chair, between a pair of sunbeds, or wherever a drink, a book, or a lantern needs a permanent, beautiful place to land.
