Slowear18

Slowear18, Milan

Set in the heart of Milan, Slowear18 is a fashion store that doesn’t stop at retail. It works as a café and a mixology bar too, all within a single address opened by the Venetian group known for high-end, smart casual clothing. The space sits under the arches of a classic Milanese building, and that contrast matters. Old structure, current energy. And it’s designed to move easily from browsing to coffee to an evening drink without changing its attitude.

The interior project by Visual Display studio leans into defined shapes and bright color. Green resin floors give the room its base note, while brass details catch the light and keep things sharp. Neon accents bring a modern edge, but the setting doesn’t feel busy. Furnishings are essential, chosen for presence rather than volume. It’s a place built for pace, where the eye has plenty to land on, yet the overall look stays clean.

A clear interior language

What makes Slowear18 work is its consistency. The materials speak to each other: resin with metal, brass with light, strong tones with restrained pieces. But nothing tries to be the star. The arches frame the experience, and the contemporary elements sit inside them with confidence. A few bold moves, a lot of discipline. That balance keeps the atmosphere versatile, ready for daytime calm and the more charged feel of the bar at night.

There’s a slightly industrial thread running through the space, yet it’s never cold. Bright color and crisp geometry bring definition, while the choices around seating and detail soften the edges. It feels designed for real use. People come in for clothes, stay for a drink, meet friends, linger. And the room handles all of it without needing to be rearranged or re-explained.

Meridiani at the counter

For this setting, Meridiani’s Hardy stools were selected for their look and flexibility. Their metal base creates a geometric graphic effect that reads clearly against the green resin and the brass notes. Different heights make them easy to place across the varied functions of the space, from café moments to bar service. And they bring structure without adding visual weight, which suits the clean, character-led furnishing approach.

Their industrial feel is there, but it’s tempered. The seat softness changes the tone, and the upholstery can be tone-on-tone or set in contrast with the architecture and color palette. That option matters in a space like Slowear18, where the background is strong and the details need to hold their own. The result is a seating choice that looks intentional, and stays comfortable enough for an extra round.
