Constellation Floor Lamp

About Constellation Floor Lamp

Design

The Lasvit Constellation Polaris Floor Lamp draws directly from the night sky, translated by designer David Rockwell into a clear, architectural gesture. Inspired by New York’s celestial ceiling at Grand Central Terminal, its composition feels both urban and ethereal. Luminous points are linked by hand-crafted metal, evoking the Polaris star with a quiet sense of direction and ease.

It’s part of the Constellation collection, which maps Cassiopeia, Orion’s Belt, and Polaris across ceiling, wall, and floor pieces. Here, the floor lamp stands as a sculptural marker in the room—graphic, refined, and never fussy. It doesn’t try too hard. It simply holds the gaze.

Materials & Build

Glass in Medium Copper meets a metal frame finished in Champagne Stardust. The contrast is intentional: warm-toned glass set against a subtly textured metallic surface. Hand-crafted connections articulate each luminous point, giving the piece a precise yet human touch.

Dimensions are straightforward for placement: approximately 63.5 inches high with a 13.3-inch overall diameter. At about 64 pounds, it has real presence and stability. Images are for illustration; handmade glass may include slight bubbles and natural shade variation—part of the making, and part of the charm.

Light & Comfort

Polaris delivers a composed, star-like glow that settles a space rather than flooding it. The points of light read as considered accents, creating a calm visual rhythm. It feels atmospheric up close and quietly dramatic from across the room.

There’s no pretense. Just a focused constellation effect that adds depth and a sense of place. By day it reads like an object. By night it becomes the room’s quiet pulse.

Placement & Lifestyle

With its slender footprint, the Constellation Polaris Floor Lamp tucks beside a lounge chair, stands cleanly at the edge of a seating group, or anchors a hallway without crowding it. And it plays well with different interiors—modern, eclectic, or more classic settings where a bit of crisp geometry brings balance.

Use a single piece as a subtle focal point. Or pair it with the collection’s ceiling or wall companions to echo the constellation motif throughout a project. Either way, the lamp reads as intentional design, not decoration.

Longevity

Metal and glass, thoughtfully joined, make for a lasting build. The finish holds its character, and the structure feels assured, not delicate. It’s engineered to live in the background and perform, day after day.

As part of Lasvit’s Constellation series, the Polaris interpretation is offered with modular thinking and bespoke configurations within the collection. The result is a piece that stays relevant as spaces evolve—steady in purpose, quietly memorable in effect.
