About Uovo Sculpture
Design
Uovo by Lasvit plays with scale and reflection in a way that feels immediate and striking. The sculptural egg form is smooth and uninterrupted, a polished presence that anchors a room without noise. Designed by Rony Plesl, it reads as a cluster of rounded mirrors gathered into one coherent shape. Nearby objects, textures, and colors echo across its surface, creating a quiet sense of depth that shifts as one moves. Two shape variations are available, but the attitude stays the same: bold, modern, and unmistakably architectural.
Materials & Build
This is handmade art glass finished with a titanium gold mirror coating. The technique gives Uovo its luminous, reflective skin and that rich, warm tone. Because it is crafted by hand, subtle bubbles and slight shade variations may appear in the glass. These are part of the piece, not flaws, and they bring individuality to every sculpture. The Small Sculpture stands approximately 47.2 inches tall, spans about 34.6 inches in diameter, and weighs around 220 pounds. Substantial in presence, it feels grounded and assured.
Light & Comfort
Uovo is a lighting sculpture, so it does more than occupy space. It interacts with it. The mirrored surface gathers ambient light and sends it back softened and multiplied. Edges blur into gentle curves; highlights roll rather than glare. The result is a calm visual rhythm that suits both quiet corners and social settings. And when the room changes—day to night, bright to dim—the piece changes with it, revealing new reflections without demanding attention.
Placement & Lifestyle
In an entry, Uovo becomes a focal point that sets a refined tone from the first step inside. In a living area or lounge, it anchors open space and adds visual movement without clutter. It performs well near natural light, where it can echo the surroundings, and equally well in more controlled environments where lighting is curated. The dimensions—approximately 47.2 inches tall and 34.6 inches across—ask for a stable footprint and a setting that allows some breathing room. Given its weight, placement should be deliberate.
Longevity
Sculpted glass and a titanium gold mirror finish make the piece both resilient and considered. The surface is made to endure daily viewing and the natural flow of a lived space while maintaining clarity and sheen. As with any handmade glass, each Uovo carries slight nuances that remain constant over time, giving the work personal character. With thoughtful positioning and routine, gentle care, the Lasvit Uovo will hold its polished presence for years, aging not by fading but by becoming part of the room’s everyday ritual.
