Nebula Ceiling Sconce

About Nebula Ceiling Sconce

Design

The Nebula Base Size Ceiling Sconce brings an expressive, organic silhouette to the ceiling without shouting for attention. Designed with Claesson Koivisto Rune, its form reads as pure and clear, then reveals nuance as light moves across the dome. At its center, a diffusing glass lens sends light upward to a mirror-like, metalized crystal glass reflector. The result is a soft gradient that feels calm yet alive. Scale is thoughtful—about 16.8 inches in diameter and 14.8 inches high—so it sits comfortably in a room, neither oversized nor timid.

Materials & Build

Crafted in borosilicate glass shaped into a refined bulb, the sconce is finished with advanced metal plating for its distinct Light Silver character. Inside, a precision lens and a polished reflector work together to deliver the effect. Surfaces carry a quiet sheen; edges are clean and confident. Weight is substantial at roughly 17.6 pounds, giving the piece a reassuring presence when installed. As with all handmade glass, subtle bubbles and slight shade variations may appear. They add honesty to the material and make each example its own.

Light & Comfort

The way it lights a space is deliberate. The diffusing lens softens the source, then the reflector lifts the beam upward, spreading it with a gentle gradient across the dome. That mirrored interior also echoes the room, so the piece naturally changes through the day. Glare is kept in check. Illumination feels even and atmospheric, yet clear enough to be useful. And when switched off, the Light Silver surface still reads as an elegant object, not just a fixture waiting for night.

Placement & Lifestyle

Nebula works where ceiling lighting should feel considered: entries, hallways, bedrooms, over seating, or along a gallery wall. One piece sets a tone; a series creates rhythm. The Light Silver finish pairs well with pale woods, stone, and crisp paint, but also finds balance in darker palettes where reflection brings lift. Because the reflector mirrors its surroundings, it takes on the mood of the space rather than dictating it. In a minimal interior it feels serenely precise. In a layered home it reads warm and engaging. From a design perspective, one shape is all it needs.

Longevity

Built with disciplined glassmaking and smart engineering, the sconce is made to last in both look and performance. Metalized crystal glass keeps its mirrored clarity, while the borosilicate body resists the visual fatigue seen in lesser materials. Regular care is simple: a soft, dry cloth for routine dusting, and gentle cleaning when needed—no abrasives. The piece reflects Lasvit’s focus on craft and technology working in step, which is exactly why it ages well: quietly, and on its own terms.
