About Hidden Light Pendant
Design
Hidden Light is the pendant where structure and emotion meet. Conceived by Czech designers Henry Wielgus and Jan Plecháč, it translates the idea of an inner spark into a tangible form. A cage-like armature frames a body of blown glass, giving the piece a composed, architectural stance. The volume feels substantial, yet the transparency keeps it open and light on the eye.
As a single statement, it anchors a room with quiet authority. In multiples, it builds a layered field of reflections and depth. The Base Size Pendant keeps the proportions balanced and approachable, making the concept easy to place without sacrificing presence. It’s a measured, modern gesture—recognizably Lasvit, and unmistakably Hidden Light.
Materials & Build
Clear, handmade glass is blown directly into a metal cage, forming an intricate mass that reads as one solid body. The frame is finished in brushed brass, adding a warm undertone that complements the clarity of the glass without competing with it. The contrast between crisp transparency and soft metal grain gives the pendant its character.
Dimensions are considered for real spaces: approximately 14.17 inches in diameter and 17.72 inches in height, with a weight of about 33.07 pounds. The scale sits comfortably over a table or in an entry, yet it still holds its own in an open plan. Each piece carries subtle variations—tiny bubbles and slight shifts in tone—natural signatures of the making process.
Illumination & Comfort
The clear glass amplifies the lamp’s glow, allowing light to travel and reflect across the crafted surfaces. It creates a gentle play of highlights without heavy diffusion, so the room gains both brightness and definition. The effect is calm, not clinical. And because the structure frames the glass, the eye reads order, not clutter.
Placement & Lifestyle
Hidden Light works where a room calls for mood and intent in equal measure. Above a dining table, it sets a centered, welcoming tone. In a foyer, it marks the arrival with clarity and warmth. Over a bar or along a hallway, a row of pendants builds rhythm and a sense of direction. It also stands up well to open ceilings, where its sculpted silhouette becomes part of the architecture.
Whether specified for a residence, boutique hospitality, or a gallery-like retail floor, the Base Size Pendant stays versatile. It can serve as a singular focal point or join a cluster to scale up impact. The look is statement, not spectacle—confident enough to lead, refined enough to support.
Longevity & Care
Materials are selected to age with grace. Brushed brass settles into a gentle patina over time, while the glass retains its crisp clarity. Because each piece is handmade, small variations—like bubbles or slight shade shifts—are expected and valued. Routine dusting and a soft, non-abrasive wipe keep the surfaces clean without fuss.
Built with thoughtful restraint and honest materials, Hidden Light from Lasvit is designed to live beautifully for years, adapting as interiors evolve while keeping its quiet, modern poise.
