About Prisma Storage
Design with a Clear Point of View
The Prisma cabinet from Capital carries a calm, confident presence. Designed by Boatto Martino Studio for the 2016 Cabinets collection, it relies on strong geometry and clean planes rather than ornament. Four hinged doors form a precise, patterned front, whether finished in lacquer or wrapped entirely in marble. Open it, and the contrast appears: a glossy black interior that frames what is stored inside and catches the light in a subtle, controlled way.
At about 43.7 inches wide, 57.9 inches high, and 19.7 inches deep, Prisma has enough scale to anchor a wall without overwhelming it. The proportions feel deliberate and architectural, almost like a piece of built-in cabinetry, but with the flexibility of a standalone object.
Materials & Build
Natural wood and marble are the key players here, supported by carefully chosen metals. The cabinet can be specified with lacquered doors that show off the pattern of the fronts, or fully clad in marble for a more monolithic, sculpted look. Inside, a glass shelf spans the width, keeping the interior visually light while offering a practical surface for display or storage.
The structure has substance. With a weight ranging roughly from 366 to 485 pounds, Prisma feels solid and grounded. Doors align cleanly, gaps are controlled, and the mix of materials is handled with restraint. Nothing feels decorative for its own sake; each finish earns its place.
Everyday Ease
Although it reads as a statement piece, Prisma is straightforward to live with. Four hinged doors open wide, so contents are easy to reach without awkward stretching or searching. The glossy black interior helps objects stand out rather than disappear into shadows.
An integrated LED, selected to suit the owner’s preference, brings discreet light to the interior. It turns opening the cabinet into a small, satisfying moment, especially in the evening.
Placement & Lifestyle
Prisma is flexible in where it sits. In a living area, it can ground a wall and quietly store media or treasured objects. In a dining space, it can hold glassware and serving pieces, with the glass shelf and interior lighting making everything feel considered, not cluttered.
But it also works in more private areas. In a study, bedroom, or generous entry, it offers closed storage with a sculptural face, keeping the room visually calm while still adding character.
Longevity in Use
Wood, marble, metal, and glass were selected not just for appearance but for their durability in daily life. Surfaces feel robust enough for regular use, and the weight of the piece reinforces that sense of permanence.
Prisma by Capital is the kind of cabinet that settles into a space and stays there. Its design is clear, its materials honest, and its function straightforward, which is what gives it lasting relevance from year to year.
