Droplets Sculpture

About Droplets Sculpture

Design

Lasvit’s Droplets ceiling sculpture captures a precise instant—the quiet tension before water releases into a drop. The composition gathers forms in a gentle gradient, thick to light, echoing the pull of water, air, and gravity. It feels in motion yet still. That balance gives the piece its calm presence and its energy.

The design is large and deliberately airy. Negative space plays its part. Each element relates to the next, so the whole reads as a single gesture rather than a cluster. From below, the silhouette narrows and opens again, inviting the eye to travel.

Materials & Build

Handmade glass in a warm gold tone pairs with a super polished stainless-steel frame. The finish is crisp and reflective, supporting the glass without visual heaviness. Subtle variations are inherent to the craft—occasional bubbles and tone shifts underline that each piece is made by hand. Images are illustrative; the real character comes alive in person.

This Large on Ceiling configuration measures approximately 59.1 inches in diameter and 119.5 inches in height, with a weight of about 370.4 pounds. Scale is part of the idea. The structure reads sculptural before it reads technical, yet every line feels considered and exact.

Light & Comfort

As a lighting sculpture, it sets a mood rather than chasing output. The gold glass lends a soft warmth; reflections fold across the metal and nearby surfaces. The density gradient deepens the sense of volume, so light seems to hover in layers. In quiet rooms it brings a gentle glow. In active spaces it adds rhythm and a point of calm.

Placement & Lifestyle

Droplets favors height and room to breathe. It works in a double-height entry, a stair hall, or an open living space where the view from below matters. Over a dining area, it draws the ceiling downward without closing the room. In a gallery-like setting, it reads as art first, light second—which is the intention. Keep pathways clear beneath it and allow some distance around the edges; the negative space is part of the effect.

Longevity

The materials are chosen to endure. Polished stainless steel keeps its clarity with simple care. Glass maintains its surface and color over time, aging honestly with minimal attention. Light dusting is usually enough; a thoughtful maintenance routine preserves the crispness of the metal and the sheen of the glass. With its measured composition and resilient build, Droplets remains visually steady as interiors evolve, staying relevant without trying too hard.
