About Morfeo Bed
Design
The Morfeo bed from Capital is all about calm, deliberate proportion. The tall headboard and extended frame give it a generous presence without feeling heavy. Clean planes are punctuated by distinctive metal details that break the volume in a precise way, adding a quiet layer of character. At roughly 97″ wide, 63″ high, and 86.5″ deep, it holds the room with confidence.
Designed by Boatto Martino Studio for the 2020 collection, the piece looks considered from every angle. Nothing shouts, yet the balance between upholstery and metal, between height and length, makes it instantly recognisable once seen in person.
Materials & Build
Behind the upholstered surfaces sits a robust wooden frame, built to support daily use and the scale of the bed. The structure is anchored by a metal base with a refined finishing, giving the piece a subtle architectural feel and adding stability.
Padding is in undeformable polyurethane foam in different densities, shaped to keep its lines crisp over time. With a total weight of about 463 lbs, the bed feels firmly grounded, not light or fragile. Finishing options in metals, leather, and fabrics allow the character of the structure to adapt to different interiors while keeping the same precise build quality.
Comfort
Comfort on Morfeo is driven by both the proportions and the technical padding. The undeformable polyurethane foam helps the headboard keep its sculpted look while still offering a supportive surface to lean into. Different densities mean the bed feels composed, not overly soft, when in use.
The frame is designed for a mattress of 180 x 200 cm, roughly 71″ x 79″. So there is ample space to stretch out, read, or work, with the headboard acting as a steady backdrop rather than a decorative panel.
Placement & Lifestyle
With its elongated silhouette and elevated headboard, the bed naturally suits a principal bedroom where it can take the main wall. The combination of metal details and upholstery works well in both minimal spaces and more layered rooms.
In leather, the design skews more tailored and formal. In fabric, it can soften a contemporary setting and bring a quieter warmth. Either way, Morfeo feels like a considered choice rather than an impulse piece.
Longevity
The mix of a wooden frame, metal base, and undeformable polyurethane foam is clearly aimed at long-term performance. The structure is solid, and the materials are specified to resist sagging and distortion, helping the bed hold its original lines through everyday use.
With a packed volume of about 95 cubic feet, it is a substantial item to bring into the home, but also one meant to stay. Capital has kept the design restrained, so it ages well alongside the rest of the room, rather than competing with it over time.
