Flora Chair

About Flora Chair

Design

The Flora chair from Capital is drawn with an easy, enveloping line that feels inviting before anyone even sits down. Its soft, sinuous silhouette reads as light, almost floating, while still holding a clear, architectural profile. Nothing shouts, yet every curve is deliberate.

Designed by Margherita Fanti for the 2025 Chairs and Stools collection, Flora balances presence and discretion. The seat measures about 24.8 inches wide and 24.4 inches deep, with an overall height of roughly 32.5 inches. The proportions let the chair sit comfortably around a table without looking bulky or disappearing into the setting.

Materials & Build

At the base, a metal structure grounds the design and gives it that subtle contrast between visual lightness and real stability. The frame carries the volume of the seat without heaviness, so the chair reads as open even in tighter spaces. It weighs around 24.3 pounds, which feels solid when moved but not cumbersome.

Flora is available in carefully chosen fabrics and leathers, supported by the metal base for long-term use. A tubular leather element traces the armrest and gently wraps the back, adding a tactile detail that instantly raises the level of finish. The mix of metal, fabric, and leather is straightforward, but handled in a way that feels quietly luxurious.

Comfort

The design is meant to embrace. The soft, flowing shapes support the body in a natural way, with a seat height of about 18.5 inches that works well at a dining or meeting table. The back curves around without feeling closed in, creating that enveloping effect mentioned in the collection brief.

On the armchair version, the tubular leather armrest sits at roughly 27.2 inches, giving the forearms a comfortable resting point and reinforcing the sense of being gently held. Even in the armless chair, this same language of curves and softness comes through in the way the seat and back connect.

Placement & Lifestyle

Flora suits interiors where the furniture is expected to work hard but still look composed. Around a dining table, the chair adds a refined note without overwhelming the room. In a private office or meeting space, a small group of Flora chairs signals care in selection, not excess.

Capital positions this piece for sophisticated environments, yet it adapts easily. Upholstered in fabric, it can soften a more minimal room. In leather, it moves toward a more executive, hospitality, or gallery setting. Either way, the chair feels considered rather than showy.

Longevity

The combination of a metal base with quality upholstery materials gives Flora a reassuring sense of durability. The structure is meant to stay true over time, while fabrics and leathers age with character rather than simply wearing out.

Because the design avoids trends and unnecessary detailing, Flora from Capital can stay in a room for years without feeling dated. The chair is built for daily use, but also for the kind of quiet continuity that well-edited interiors rely on.
