Saphir Sofa

About Saphir Sofa

Design & Modularity

The Saphir sofa is built around a clear idea: one design, many configurations. With 22 modular elements, it can be composed as a generous corner setting, a linear sofa, or a more open, lounge-like arrangement. Each piece connects with a clean, almost architectural precision, so the overall look stays calm rather than busy. The suspended structure gives the sofa a light footprint, even in large compositions, letting it float slightly above the floor instead of dominating the room.

This sense of ease is paired with a strong visual identity. The leather-covered base draws a fine line around the silhouette, adding definition without shouting for attention. It is a detail that feels considered, not decorative for its own sake. Designed by Capital Creative Lab for the SOFA 2025 collection, the piece feels contemporary but not tied to a passing trend, ready to adapt as spaces and tastes evolve.

Materials & Build

Materials are handled with a quiet confidence. Wood, metals, and lacquered elements form the structural frame, while marble tops are integrated into selected modules. These stone surfaces sit flush with the upholstery, creating natural places for a book, a drink, or a display object, without needing extra side tables close by. The transition between each material is precise and controlled, which keeps the overall look coherent.

Leather and fabrics wrap the seating volumes and the base, offering a spectrum from soft, textile warmth to a more tailored, leather-clad presence. Nothing feels accidental. Every finish has a clear place within the composition, helping Saphir from Capital sit comfortably in both minimal and more layered interiors.

Comfort & Support

Comfort is built into the backrest system. It is composed of three elements: a solid structure, a generous cushion, and a discrete roller. Together they create a graduated support, from upright to more relaxed. The cushion does the main work, while the roller invites a slight lean or a shift in posture.

This layered approach means the sofa does not have to look bulky to feel inviting. The seating feels composed, yet the body finds an easy, natural position. It is the kind of comfort that encourages longer conversations, not just a quick sit-down.

Placement & Lifestyle

Because of its modular nature, the sofa works across very different settings. In a large living room, multiple elements can stretch into an expansive arrangement with marble-topped modules subtly dividing lounging and reading zones. In a more compact space, a simple two- or three-element layout keeps the room open while still feeling substantial.

The suspended base helps visually lighten even the larger set-ups, which is particularly useful in urban interiors where every inch matters. And the mix of upholstery and hard surfaces means the sofa supports everyday life: relaxing, hosting, working from a laptop, or simply keeping essentials close at hand.

Longevity & Everyday Use

Durability comes from the combination of solid structural materials and upholstery designed for regular use. Wood and metal components provide a stable core, while leather and quality fabrics age with character when properly cared for. Marble tops, if treated with normal attention, retain their quiet presence over time.

Because the system is modular, the configuration can be revisited as needs change. A layout suited to an open loft can later be reshaped for a more traditional living room without replacing the whole piece. In that sense, Saphir is designed not just for a single space, but for the way living environments evolve.
