Grand Modular Sofa

About Grand Modular Sofa

Design that Adapts

The Grand Modular sofa from Capital is built around a simple idea: seating should adjust to the room, not the other way around. Designed by Boatto Martino Studio in 2017, it is a modular system that breaks away from the usual fixed layouts. Each element is conceived to link smoothly with the next, so compositions can grow, shrink, turn corners, or stand freely in the center of a space.

Lines are clean and quiet, with a focus on proportion rather than decoration. This keeps the overall look calm, whether arranged as a generous family setting or a more compact configuration for a smaller living area.

Materials & Build

Capital keeps the material palette for Grand Modular focused and considered. The structure is designed to work with a choice of metal details, leather upholstery, or fabric coverings, allowing a clear shift in character while staying within one coherent system.

Metal elements bring definition and a subtle contemporary edge. Leather introduces a richer, more tailored presence. Fabric softens the silhouette and can lean either casual or formal, depending on the selection. Width is customized on client request and specified in inches, so each configuration is planned precisely for its setting.

Comfort, Quietly Prioritized

Grand Modular is conceived first as a place to sit, talk, and unwind. The modular logic is not just visual; it supports different seating postures and arrangements, from a straight-lined sofa to extended lounge sections where people can really stretch out.

The overall feeling is of generous, inviting seating without excess bulk. Comfort is meant to blend into daily life, not overpower the room.

Placement & Lifestyle

This system is deliberately open-ended. It works against a wall in a compact three-seat layout, or as a larger, more structured composition that defines zones within an open-plan room. And because each module is part of one consistent design language, even complex arrangements remain visually calm.

In a residential setting, Grand Modular can anchor the main living space. In a more architectural or corporate environment, it can be scaled up to support reception, lounge, or waiting areas with the same clarity.

Built for the Long Run

Grand Modular is part of Capital’s Sofa 2017 collection, yet it is designed to move beyond specific trends by relying on proportion, material quality, and a flexible concept. The modular nature means the composition can evolve as rooms or needs change.

Finishes in metal, leather, and fabric are selected to age with character when properly cared for. Instead of being a fixed, one-time solution, the system is intended as a long-term piece that can be reconfigured, expanded, or refined over time.
