About Flat Rug

Quiet Design, Nothing Extra

The Flat Rug by Talenti is stripped back in the best way. No bold patterns, no visual noise. Just a clean, hand-woven surface that lets the material do the talking. With a pile height of roughly 0.6 inches, it sits low and compact — the kind of rug that anchors a room without competing with everything else in it. It works well in contemporary spaces and minimalist interiors, where restraint is the point.

Materials and Construction

It starts with 100% New Zealand wool, a fiber known for being naturally soft, resilient, and long-lasting. Each piece is hand-woven, which gives the surface a subtle texture that machine-made rugs simply can’t replicate. The backing is 100% cotton, adding stability and a comfortable feel underfoot.

The Flat Rug comes in three sizes. The smallest, at approximately 9’10” x 6’7″, weighs around 40.8 lbs. The mid-size option is roughly 9’10” x 13’1″ at about 97.9 lbs. And the largest — approximately 13’1″ x 13’1″ — comes in at around 130.5 lbs. Three colorways are available: Ivory, Greige, and Charcoal.

Comfort Underfoot

New Zealand wool has a natural softness that holds up over time. It doesn’t flatten out the way synthetic fibers tend to. The cotton backing adds just enough cushion and grip, so the rug stays put without requiring a separate pad. It feels grounded. Solid. The kind of surface you notice when you step onto it barefoot in the morning.

Where It Belongs

The neutral palette — Ivory, Greige, Charcoal — makes placement easy. Living rooms, bedrooms, open-plan spaces, even well-appointed contract environments. The Talenti Flat Rug doesn’t demand attention, but it quietly improves whatever room it’s in. It layers well under furniture and pairs naturally with wood, stone, or concrete flooring. The three sizes offer flexibility for smaller seating areas or larger open layouts.

Built to Last

New Zealand wool is one of the more durable natural fibers available. It resists soiling, retains its shape, and ages well. Hand-woven construction means fewer weak points in the weave compared to mass-produced alternatives. This is a rug designed to be lived on — not just looked at — and to hold up for years without losing its character. That kind of durability matters, especially at this level.
