Design

Designed by Boatto Martino Studio in 2022, the Adam writing desk for Capital presents a clear, confident silhouette. The top is gently sculpted, with softened contours that keep the piece from feeling rigid or severe. Two broad legs in tempered bronzed glass lift the horizontal volume and give the whole desk a light, almost floating presence. The result is a work surface that reads as substantial, yet visually calm and uncluttered.

Every line is clean and considered. Nothing feels decorative for its own sake, yet the mix of glass, wood, and metal still brings a quiet sense of occasion to the office.

Materials & Build

The top is built from layered wooden material, then shaped and veneered in selected wood essences or finished in lacquer. A glossy or matte polyester varnish seals the surface, giving it a refined look with everyday resilience. Underneath, two generous front drawers are integrated in a way that keeps the profile slim. Their fronts can be chosen in lacquer or matching wood essence, each completed with metal handles.

The base is formed by bronzed glass sheets, tempered for strength, while a metal footrest and discreet metal feet ground the piece. Metal details and profiles tie the structure together, with various galvanic finishes available to align with the surrounding palette. An additional lacquered metal shelf, shaped to sit neatly along the top, can be added on the right or left side to keep objects within reach.

Comfort & Use

With a width of about 55.1 inches, a depth of 23.6 inches, and a height of roughly 30.7 inches, the desk offers a balanced work area without overwhelming the room. The proportion feels considered: wide enough for a laptop, documents, and a lamp, yet still compact. At approximately 88.2 pounds, it has a reassuring solidity that stays planted during daily tasks.

The integrated footrest encourages a natural sitting posture during longer work sessions, while the two drawers keep writing tools and personal items close at hand. When needed, the optional lateral shelf adds a second tier for books, accessories, or a small organizer, positioned exactly where it works best.

Placement & Lifestyle

Adam by Capital fits easily into both professional and home office settings. The glass bases keep the footprint visually light, which helps in smaller rooms or spaces shared with living areas. In a private study, the wood essence top brings warmth and tactility; in a more contemporary office, a lacquered version reads crisp and architectural.

It works well as a standalone desk facing the room, where the bronzed glass legs can be appreciated, or aligned against a wall with the optional shelf acting as a compact storage bridge. In each setting, it feels composed rather than imposing.

Longevity

The combination of tempered bronzed glass, layered wood, and polyester varnish is chosen with long-term performance in mind. Metal feet and profiles, treated with galvanic finishes, help protect the structure and details from everyday wear. Surfaces are designed to handle regular use while retaining their finish, whether matte or glossy.

This is not a fragile showpiece. The substantial weight and solid construction give the desk a durable character, ready for years of work, notes, and ideas gathered across its surface.
