Orion Console

About Orion Console

Design

The Orion console from Capital is all about clear, confident lines. The proportions are generous without feeling heavy, with a width of about 59 inches, a height just under 32 inches, and a depth close to 20 inches. The look is clean, but not cold. Wood, leather, metal and marble sit together in a way that feels considered rather than showy. The three front drawers create a quiet rhythm across the piece, broken only by the slim metal handles and profiles that trace its outline.

Nothing is overdrawn. Surfaces are flat, edges are crisp, and the silhouette stays low and horizontal, which helps Orion slip naturally into both modern and more classic rooms.

Materials & Build

Orion is built around a wooden frame, giving the console a solid, reassuring core. The external finishing in leather, in category B, adds a subtle softness to the structure. It turns what could be a simple storage piece into something you want to touch as you pass by.

Metal profiles and handles cut through the warmth of the wood and leather with a precise, tailored accent. The top can be finished in marble, bringing in natural veining and a cool surface that contrasts nicely with the leather-clad body. Together, these materials feel balanced and thoughtfully layered.

Comfort & Everyday Use

For a console, comfort is about ease. Orion’s height around 31.9 inches makes the top practical for dropping keys, placing a tray, or styling a lamp without reaching or bending. The three drawers keep daily essentials out of sight but close at hand. At roughly 154 to 198 pounds, it has enough weight to stay firmly in place during use, which makes every interaction feel steady and assured.

Placement & Lifestyle

Orion works well where a room needs order with a touch of warmth. In an entryway, it frames the first impression, with the marble top ready for a bowl, a vase, or a small sculpture. In a living or dining room, it easily becomes a surface for lighting and art, with the drawers quietly managing clutter.

The design also suits a bedroom or home office, where the mix of wood, leather, and marble adds a composed, almost architectural presence without dominating the space.

Longevity

Designed by Capital Creative Lab in 2015, Orion still feels current because it relies on honest materials and a straightforward structure. Wood, leather, marble, and metal age in visible but appealing ways when cared for, gaining subtle character rather than wearing out. The clear geometry, dependable frame, and practical drawer layout suggest a console made not just for one season, but for many rearranged rooms and changing interiors over time.
