About Vortex S Armchair
Design
The Vortex S armchair by Capital is a compact lounge chair with a quiet presence. Its lines are snug and welcoming, with a padded seat and back that read as inviting rather than showy. The scale is deliberately modest, so it slips easily into a room without demanding attention, yet still feels considered and intentional from every angle.
There is a gentle softness to the silhouette, balanced by a clear, modern outline. Nothing feels exaggerated. The proportions are tuned for everyday living spaces, where a smaller chair still needs to look composed and complete on its own.
Materials & Build
Vortex S is built on a wooden frame, giving the structure a solid, familiar core. Over this, undeformable polyurethane foam in different densities shapes the seat and back. That mix keeps the profile slim while holding form over time. A metal base anchors the chair, adding visual lightness and practical stability in one simple move.
The chair can be upholstered in fabric or leather, depending on the project and the room. In textiles, it reads relaxed and approachable. In leather, it shifts toward a cleaner, more tailored mood. Either way, the materials are chosen to sit naturally with the restrained design language.
Comfort & Proportions
This armchair is designed to feel easy from the first sit. The layered foam cushioning gives a soft welcome with a firmer underlying support, so the seat doesn’t collapse or feel overly plush. With an overall width of about 23.6 inches, depth of 22 inches, and height of 26.8 inches, it stays compact while still offering a comfortable position.
The seat sits at roughly 17 inches high, with arms at about 25.6 inches. These dimensions keep the posture relaxed but upright enough for conversation, a drink, or a laptop. At around 33.1 pounds, the chair is light enough to move when the room needs a quick reset.
Placement & Lifestyle
Vortex S works well where space is tight but comfort still matters. It fits neatly beside a sofa, under a window, or in a bedroom corner. Two or more can line up in a lounge or reception setting without feeling heavy or overfurnished. The clean base and compact volume, about 10.6 cubic feet, make it easy to integrate into existing layouts.
It can read casual with a textured fabric, or more formal in smooth leather. Either way, it’s the kind of chair that quietly supports how a room is used, from short meetings to longer conversations.
Longevity
Behind the understated look, the Capital Creative Lab focused on resilience. The undeformable polyurethane foam helps the seat and back keep their shape, resisting sagging with regular use. The combination of wood frame and metal base is straightforward, but it’s exactly what helps the chair stay reliable day after day.
It’s a practical choice for interiors that see steady traffic yet still value a sense of refinement. Nothing is overdesigned, which also means less to tire of visually over the years.
