About Flora Armchair
Design & Silhouette
The Flora armchair by Capital sits in that sweet spot between soft volume and clean structure. Designed by Margherita Fanti for the 2025 Armchairs collection, it has an enveloping, sculpted shell that feels drawn rather than built. The lines are sinuous but controlled, with a gentle openness that invites you in without overwhelming a room. Its presence is clear, yet visually light.
A sleek metal base lifts the body of the chair so it seems to float. That contrast between the generous seat and the fine, graphic lines of the base gives Flora its character. Nothing is overly decorative; the shape does the talking. It looks considered from every angle, which matters in open spaces where the back is always on show.
Materials & Construction
Flora is offered in a curated mix of leathers, fabrics, and metals, allowing it to sit easily in both warmer and more minimal interiors. The upholstery wraps smoothly around the curves, with careful tailoring that keeps seams discreet and clean. A tubular leather armrest traces the contour of the back, like a subtle frame, adding a quiet layer of luxury.
The metal base anchors the design, giving stability without visual heaviness. It works with the upholstery, not against it, so the chair feels balanced in both form and build. The composition of materials is straightforward but clearly high-end, which is exactly the point.
Comfort & Proportions
Comfort on Flora comes from its enveloping shape and measured dimensions. At about 32.7 inches wide and 32.7 inches deep, with a height of 29.9 inches, it offers a generous seat without becoming bulky. The seat height sits around 15.7 inches, easy for sliding in and out, while the arm height of roughly 23.2 inches supports a relaxed, natural posture.
The curves support the body rather than forcing it into a fixed position. It is the kind of armchair that works just as well for a short conversation as it does for a longer pause with a book or a drink.
Placement & Lifestyle
Flora is designed for sophisticated environments, but it does not insist on being formal. It lives comfortably in a lounge, a hotel lobby, or a private suite, and it also works as a stand-alone accent in a corner that needs a focal point. With a weight of about 46.3 pounds, it can be moved when the space needs a quick refresh, yet it still feels substantial.
Its rounded profile helps it sit nicely in conversation areas, angled toward a sofa or gathered in pairs. And because the back is as considered as the front, it can be placed away from the wall without compromise.
Longevity & Presence
The combination of premium upholstery options, the tubular leather armrest, and the metal base gives Flora a reassuring sense of longevity. The volume of the chair is generous but not oversized, so it is less likely to date quickly as room layouts and tastes evolve. At about 29.7 cubic feet in volume, it offers visual impact without dominating the architecture around it.
Capital positions Flora as an exclusive choice, and it shows in how quietly confident the chair feels. It is built to be used, not just admired, and to hold its own in refined spaces year after year without shouting for attention.
