About Heigh-Ho
Design
Heigh-Ho is a wall-mounted display case that keeps the room feeling open while still giving objects a clear place to live. It reads almost like a drawn line in space: crisp edges, quiet geometry, and just enough presence to frame what’s inside. In the straight version, the form is a clean parallelepiped. The oblique version shifts into an irregular prism, changing the perspective as someone walks by.
The effect is intentionally light. Items appear to hover, not because of tricks, but because the structure stays out of the way. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the piece is restrained and graphic, with the focus staying on the collection behind the glass.
Materials & build
Each case is made in transparent extralight tempered glass, 6 mm thick, with panels glued at 45° for sharp, precise corners. It’s a technical build, but it doesn’t look technical. The glass stays clear and bright, so the content reads true in natural light or evening light.
Heigh-Ho includes a lock, and it can be specified with a mirrored back or with an integrated LED lighting system. The mirrored back adds depth and doubles the view. The LED option brings a focused, gallery-like clarity without needing extra fixtures.
Use and access
Instead of a conventional door, special hinges set into a wall-fixed frame allow the glass case to revolve for access. It’s an elegant solution, and it keeps the overall silhouette clean. And it makes daily use feel simpler than it looks.
The display case supports up to 33 lb, suited to curated objects, books, or smaller design pieces. It’s not meant to be overloaded, and it doesn’t need to be. The idea is edited storage, kept visible and protected.
Placement and sizing
Glasitalia offers Heigh-Ho in several proportions, so it can act as a vertical feature or a compact wall element. Sizes include approximately 18.5" × 11.8" × 51.2", 16.1" × 11.8" × 23.6", 16.1" × 15.7" × 15.7", 23.2" × 16.5" × 15.7", 20.5" × 13.0" × 51.2", and 20.5" × 13.0" × 23.6".
It works best where the wall has room to breathe: an entry corridor, a dining area, or a study wall that needs one sharp note. But it can also sit quietly in a bedroom, holding personal pieces without turning the space into a display.
Longevity
Tempered glass and the 45° bonded construction are chosen for resilience, not ornament. With normal care, the clarity holds and the edges stay crisp. Heigh-Ho is not available custom made, so each configuration is exactly as designed, consistent in proportion and finish.
