About Surface Swing Plain
Design
Surface Swing Plain is a swing door that keeps the line clean and the architecture in control. It’s offered as a single or double door, made to measure, with a choice of adjustable pivot or concealed hinges. The result is quiet when it’s closed and composed when it’s in use. And for projects that want an even more seamless look, it’s also available with the frame flush to the ceiling.
Materials & build
The door is built in honeycomb wood, a smart structure that supports a crisp surface without visual bulk. Finishes are flexible: it can arrive in raw wood to be finished with wall paint, or in matt white, or in matt lacquered wood in RAL or NCS tones, or in wood veneer matched to a sample. Finish availability can vary by size, so it’s worth checking what applies to the chosen configuration.
An aluminum subframe comes in white-painted finish and is designed to disappear once the door is closed. It’s suitable for cement walls and plasterboard, and it can be varnished during wall painting for a more integrated result.
Everyday comfort
Good doors are felt more than they’re noticed. Surface Swing Plain keeps operation straightforward, with hardware options that let the door suit the way a space is used. Different locks can be assembled, and the choice between handle or knob follows the same finish language as the frame, so nothing looks like an afterthought.
The entire handle set is treated with a special sanitizing varnish, tested according to ISO 22196:2011. It’s a practical detail, especially in high-touch environments, helping counteract bacterial overgrowth and keep the surfaces easier to live with.
Placement & lifestyle
This is the kind of piece chosen when the wall is meant to read as one calm plane. It works in residential corridors, dressing rooms, and open-plan layouts where doors should blend in rather than interrupt. But it also makes sense in studios, hospitality, and workspaces, where clean transitions and reliable hardware matter day after day.
From Glas Italia, the system is designed for projects that value coordination. Wall color, door finish, and frame treatment can be brought into the same visual family without forcing a single look.
Longevity
Surface Swing Plain is built around durable components and serviceable choices. The adjustable pivot option supports fine tuning over time, while concealed hinges keep the visual quiet without sacrificing function. Lacquered and veneered finishes are meant for real use, and the aluminum subframe adds stability where it counts. It’s a door that stays sharp because the details were planned, not because it asks to be handled with care.
