Sherazade Wall

About Sherazade Wall

Design

Sherazade Wall is a floor-to-ceiling partition system designed by Piero Lissoni. It reads as architecture more than furniture: clean lines, calm proportions, and a glass plane that stays visually centered. And because the frame is kept tight, the glass finish becomes the real design choice, not an afterthought.

The look can stay discreet or become more graphic, depending on the glass selected. Some finishes keep the space open and bright. Others add pattern, color, or a soft veil. It’s a simple idea, done with enough control that it feels intentional in both residential and contract interiors.

Materials & build

The structure is aluminum, with the laminated glass positioned in the center of the profile. The glazing is offered in 5+5 mm or 4+6 mm laminated construction, both totaling about 0.39 inches. Installation uses a “click-on” system, built to keep the assembly precise while still practical on site.

The aluminum comes in five finishes, and the system allows meaningful adjustment to compensate for construction irregularities. Glass options run wide, including acid-etched, lacquered (glossy or opaque), patterned, reflecting, colored transparent, and extra-light variants, plus versions with wide mesh/grid effects, fabrics, and fluted colored or transparent treatments. Not every finish is available for every configuration, so final selection should be confirmed against the price list.

Comfort, light, and privacy

Comfort here is about how a room feels when it’s divided. With clear or extra-light glass, Sherazade Wall preserves sightlines and daylight, so spaces stay connected even when functions separate. But privacy can be dialed in with acid-etched, patterned, or fluted options that soften views without making the room heavy.

And the choices aren’t only aesthetic. Different degrees of transparency help control glare, highlight circulation paths, or simply make a workspace feel less exposed. The result is a partition that can be quiet in the background, or give the room a deliberate rhythm.

Placement & lifestyle flexibility

This system suits open plans that need definition without losing volume: living and dining zones, home offices, entry sequences, meeting areas. It can also be used to build private rooms inside larger shells, while keeping the overall footprint visually light.

All Glas Italia hinged and sliding doors can be integrated into the system, coordinated in matching finishes or contrasted for a more tailored look. But some door models do not support every glass type used in the partition wall, so coordination should be planned early.

Longevity and standards

Sherazade Wall is built around laminated safety glass certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150. That certification matters in high-traffic settings and anywhere a full-height glass surface needs to feel secure.

The aluminum frame’s adjustability helps the installation stay clean over time, even in real-world buildings where walls and ceilings aren’t perfectly true. A technical module can also be added when the project calls for it, keeping the system adaptable as layouts evolve.
