Design

Sherazade Swing Slim Jambs is a custom-made single swing door drawn with a clear, edited hand. The lines stay quiet, and the details are where the personality sits. Mini telescopic stop profiles keep the perimeter precise, while adjustable hinges let the door settle exactly as it should. And because the frame and hardware read as one, the overall look stays clean from every angle.

Piero Lissoni’s approach comes through in the restraint. Nothing feels busy. But it also doesn’t feel cold. The slim jambs frame the glass with just enough presence to make the opening feel intentional, not improvised.

Materials & build

The door pairs glass with an aluminum frame, with the panel fitted by gasket for a secure, refined finish. Glass options include monolithic tempered glass at about 1/4 inch thick (6 mm) or laminated glass in a 3+3 mm build, also about 1/4 inch overall. Safety certification follows ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150 standards, except for finish 533 Retinato.

Finish selection is broad and highly considered. There are acid-etched options, including single- and double-faced versions, reflecting glass in acid-etched or transparent form, glossy or opaque lacquered glass, and coloured transparent glass. Texture and pattern also play a role, from flutes in coloured or acid-etched variations to patterned glass options like quadretti, goffrato, cattedrale, and rigatino. Extralight glass is available with wide meshes or with fabrics. Not every finish is offered for every size, so checking the price list matters.

Comfort in use

A swing door should feel easy, not delicate. The adjustable hinges support a smooth daily motion, and the stop profiles help the close feel controlled. Closure can be specified without a lock, with a cylinder twist lock, or with a pawl, depending on how private the space needs to be.

Handles or knobs are chosen to match the frame color, so the hand-point doesn’t interrupt the composition. And the entire handle unit is treated with a sanitizing coating tested to ISO 22196:2011, designed to counter bacterial proliferation and keep the surface cleaner in real life.

Placement & lifestyle

Glasitalia positions Sherazade Swing Slim Jambs as an architectural piece that still lives comfortably with furniture. It can separate rooms without closing them off, especially when a lighter finish is chosen. But it can also add privacy when a more obscuring glass is specified. The wide finish range makes it easy to tune the mood without changing the structure.
