Design

Sherazade Swing Plain Plus is a swing door drawn with a quiet precision. The frame is concealed, and the glass panel sits flush to the wall, so the whole surface reads as one clean plane. Lines stay crisp even up close, thanks to the tapered profiles that divide the glass into equal panes without adding visual weight.

Piero Lissoni keeps the gesture simple, but not generic. And that’s the point here: a door that feels architectural, not ornamental, with details that only show themselves when light moves across the surface.

Materials & build

The door uses tempered glass in a monolithic 0.24 in panel, or laminated tempered glass in a 0.12 in + 0.12 in build. The glass is set into an aluminum frame by a seal, designed to keep the fit clean and controlled. Finishes span from transparent and extra-light options to acid-etched surfaces, reflecting glass, colored transparent glass, and lacquered looks in glossy or opaque tones. Some sizes may limit finish availability, so selection should be confirmed.

Glasses are certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI ENI 2150 safety standards, with a noted exception for the 533 armato option. Hardware choices stay consistent with the system: the lock can be specified without a block, with a cylinder, or with a revolving plug. Handle or knob options are supplied in the same finish as the frame, so nothing feels patched together.

Daily use

This is a swing door that’s meant to operate with ease. Adjustable pivot hinges allow the motion to be tuned after installation, which matters on a door designed to sit perfectly flush. But the experience isn’t only about movement. The handle set is treated with a sanitizing varnish tested to ISO 22196:2011, aimed at counteracting bacterial overgrowth and keeping touch surfaces cleaner over time.

Placement & lifestyle

The white painted aluminum subframe is invisible when the door is closed, keeping the room’s lines uninterrupted. It is available for both cement and plasterboard walls, and it can be varnished during wall painting so the opening integrates naturally. The effect is subtle: the architecture stays calm, and the glass does the work, whether it’s chosen for privacy, reflection, or a more open feel.

Sherazade Double Swing Plain Plus extends the same approach to a wider passage, with the same flush panel look and detailing. And in both versions, the system suits spaces where the door should feel present, but not loud.
