About Sherazade Swing Plain Patchwork
Design
Sherazade Swing Plain Patchwork is a swing door with a concealed frame and a panel that sits flush to the wall. The lines are clean, and the effect is quiet. It reads as architecture first, hardware second. And that’s the point: a door that belongs to the room, not one that interrupts it.
The “patchwork” comes from the surface being divided into four glazed sections. It adds structure without looking busy. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the composition stays disciplined, even when the finish is more expressive.
Materials & Build
The panel is built around aluminum profiles with glass set into the center and fitted with a gasket. Depending on the selected glass, the construction can be tempered monolithic at 0.24 in, or laminated 0.12 in + 0.12 in. The result feels precise, with edges and junctions that look considered up close.
Glass choices run wide, from transparent and Extralight options to acid-etched, reflecting, lacquered glossy or opaque, patterned, and colored versions. Some finishes carry strong texture, others stay almost invisible. The glass is certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI ENI 2150 safety regulations, with the exception of finish 533 retinato.
Daily Use
The swing action is supported by adjustable pivot hinges, so the door can be tuned on site for alignment and movement. Locking can be specified in three ways: without block, with cylinder, or with a revolving plug. Handle or knob options are available, supplied in the same finish as the frame, which keeps the look consistent.
There’s also a practical detail that matters in real spaces. The complete handle set is treated with a sanitizing varnish tested according to ISO 22196:2011, designed to counteract bacterial overgrowth and help keep touchpoints cleaner.
Placement & Lifestyle
This is a good fit for interiors that want continuity across walls, corridors, and doorways. The flush panel keeps sightlines calm, while the four-part glazing can either soften transitions with diffused light or sharpen them with clearer transparency. But it never turns into a statement piece for its own sake.
Glasitalia offers the Sherazade Swing Plain Patchwork as a single or double custom-made door, which makes it easy to maintain a consistent language across larger openings and smaller ones.
Longevity
The white painted aluminum subframe is invisible when the door is closed and is made for both cement and plasterboard walls. It can be varnished during wall painting, so it integrates cleanly over time as finishes change. With the pivot hinges adjustable and the materials chosen for stability, Sherazade Swing Plain Patchwork is built to stay crisp, even with daily use.
