Sherazade Slide Patchwork

About Sherazade Slide Patchwork

Design

Sherazade Slide Patchwork reads as a clean, architectural sliding door, but it isn’t cold. The surface is divided into four distinct panels, so the composition can feel graphic, quiet, or a bit more expressive depending on the glass choices. It’s a simple idea that lands with real presence. And because the panels sit within slim profiles, the door keeps its lines sharp even when the finishes do the talking.

Designed by Piero Lissoni, the patchwork layout brings a sense of order to mixed materials. It suits interiors that want separation without heaviness, and it works just as well when the goal is a subtle partition that still lets light move through.

Materials & Build

Each of the four sections can be specified in different types of glass, using either tempered monolithic glass at about 0.24 inches thick (6 mm) or laminated glass at about 0.12 + 0.12 inches (3+3 mm). The panels are fitted with a gasket and set into the center of aluminum profiles, a detail that keeps the assembly precise and visually controlled. There is also the option of wooden veneered aluminum, for a warmer note without changing the overall clarity of the system.

Finishes span a wide range, from extra-clear glass to colored and patterned options, including acid-etched, lacquered, reflecting, fluted, and mesh or fabric-infused looks. But not every finish is available for every size, so selections should be confirmed against the current price list. The finish 533 retinato is the one exception to the safety certifications noted for the rest of the range.

Ease of Use

As a sliding door, Sherazade Slide Patchwork is made to move smoothly and to sit flush in daily use. Different rail, handle, and accessory configurations are available, which allows the system to be tuned to the project without changing the door’s core character. The effect is calm and straightforward: a door that looks considered, then gets out of the way.

Placement & Lifestyle

This door is an easy fit for modern residences, hospitality spaces, and offices where light and privacy need to be balanced. Transparent options keep sightlines open. Acid-etched and patterned finishes soften views and add discretion. And mixing finishes across the four panels can subtly define zones, like separating a dining area from a living space, or creating a quieter boundary for a study.

Longevity & Safety

The structure leans on durable aluminum framing and safety-rated glass options. Most finishes are certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI ENI 2150 safety regulations, reinforcing that the door is meant for real environments, not just showrooms. Specified thoughtfully, the glasitalia Sherazade Slide Patchwork holds up as a long-term architectural element, with finishes that can be refreshed in feeling without changing the system itself.
