Sherazade Slide

About Sherazade Slide

Design

Sherazade Slide is a sliding door drawn with a clear architectural line. Designed by Piero Lissoni, it keeps the focus on proportion: a slim aluminium frame, a centered glass panel, and details that stay quiet rather than calling attention to themselves. It reads light in the room, but it still feels defined. And that balance is what gives it its particular character.

The glass sits in the middle of the frame, held by a seal that keeps the look precise. There’s no visual noise here, just a clean perimeter and a confident surface. It works with modern interiors, but it doesn’t rely on trends to make its point.

Materials & build

The door is made with tempered glass set into an aluminium structure. The glass can be monolithic at 6 mm (about 0.24 inches) or laminated 3+3 mm (about 0.12 + 0.12 inches), depending on the configuration. Either way, the construction keeps the panel crisp and stable inside the frame.

Glasitalia offers Sherazade Slide in a wide range of glass finishes, including transparent and extra-light options, acid-etched surfaces, patterned versions, reflecting glass, fluted treatments, and lacquered looks in glossy or opaque. There are also variations with wide mesh/grid effects and fabric inserts, along with veneered aluminium possibilities. But finish availability can vary by size, so it’s worth confirming the exact combination before final selection.

Daily use

As a sliding solution, it’s meant to bring separation without heaviness. The visual continuity of glass helps rooms feel connected, even when the door is closed. And when privacy is needed, the more opaque or textured finishes can shift the mood quickly.

The system is designed to work with dedicated rails, handles, and accessories, offered in multiple configurations. This makes it easy to match the door to the project’s functional needs while keeping the overall appearance consistent and intentional.

Placement & lifestyle

Sherazade Slide fits naturally in spaces where light matters: between a living area and study, in a bedroom suite, or as a refined divider for a dressing room. It can look crisp and minimal in a bright, white interior, or add contrast alongside darker woods and stone.

Because the surface is glass, it pairs well with curated rooms that favor fewer, better pieces. It doesn’t compete with art or furniture. It simply frames the space and lets the interior do the talking.

Longevity & standards

The combination of aluminium and tempered glass is a practical choice for long-term use. Tempered glass is selected for its resilience, while the framed construction helps protect edges and maintain a composed silhouette over time.

For added reassurance, the glass is certified according to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI ENI 2150 safety regulations (with the exception of 533. armato). It’s the kind of detail that matters in real homes and high-traffic projects alike, and it’s part of what keeps the Glasitalia approach to Sherazade Slide credible and well-resolved.
