Sherazade Pocket Patchwork

About Sherazade Pocket Patchwork

Design

Sherazade Pocket Patchwork is a sliding pocket door designed by Piero Lissoni. The idea is simple: a clean plane that disappears into the wall when opened, with a surface that can shift from quiet to expressive depending on the chosen glass. And because it’s made to order, it can be specified as a single door or as a double door, keeping the look consistent across wider openings.

The “Patchwork” name suits it. Not because it tries to be busy, but because the collection of glass options lets the door read differently from room to room. Some finishes feel crisp and architectural, others softer and more layered. The door stays restrained either way.

Materials & build

The construction centers on aluminum, with the option of wooden veneered aluminum. From there, the surface choices expand into a broad palette of glass: double-faced or single-faced acid-etched glass, extralight glass with wide meshes or with fabrics, glossy or opaque lacquered glass, and both reflecting acid-etched and reflecting transparent glass.

There are also patterned options, in acid-etched or transparent versions, plus colored transparent glass and transparent extralight glass. Not every finish is offered for every size, so final selection should follow the price list. The result is a door that can be tuned for privacy, light, or a more reflective presence without changing the essential profile.

Everyday comfort

This is a door built around daily use. The pocket format keeps the opening clear because there’s no swing into the room, and it suits tighter plans as well as open spaces that need a clean close-off at times. Single and double versions are available with or without a lock, depending on how much separation is needed.

It’s also meant to feel straightforward for installers. The door can be integrated with common sliding pocket-door systems without a jamb, including Scrigno Essential® Scorrevole and Eclisse® SyntesisLine, with assembly instructions provided for each configuration.

Placement & lifestyle

Sherazade Pocket Patchwork works where a traditional hinged door would interrupt furniture layouts or circulation. It fits naturally between living and dining areas, in studies, or for dressing spaces where privacy matters but the room should still feel open when the door is tucked away.

In projects with a consistent architectural language, it can be repeated across multiple thresholds, changing only the glass to suit each zone. That continuity is part of the appeal, and it’s very much in line with glasitalia’s approach to interiors.

Longevity

Because it’s custom-made and designed to work with widely used pocket systems, it’s a choice that can stay relevant as spaces evolve. Subframes for plasterboard or brick walls can be provided on request, helping the installation match the wall construction from the start.

The real longevity comes from flexibility. The same door format can read discreet or bold through finish alone, so it doesn’t need to be replaced when the room is refreshed. It can simply be specified right, and live with the space for years.
