About Sherazade Pocket
Design
Sherazade Pocket is Piero Lissoni’s take on the sliding pocket door, reduced to what matters and finished with real precision. The look is clean, frameless in feel, with glass held in a slim aluminum structure that stays quiet in the room. And because it’s made to integrate into common pocket systems, it reads as built-in rather than added later.
The door comes as a single or double version, depending on the opening and the level of separation desired. There’s also the option to include a lock or leave it without, keeping the profile even more minimal.
Materials & Build
At the center is tempered glass, either monolithic at about 0.24 inches thick or laminated at 0.12 + 0.12 inches. The glass is set into the aluminum frame with a central seal, a detail that keeps the composition crisp while supporting day-to-day use. Safety certification follows ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150, with the noted exception of the reinforced 533 “armato” glass.
Glasitalia offers a broad range of glass finishes, from transparent extralight to acid-etched options, reflective versions, patterned surfaces, fluted colored glass, and lacquered treatments in glossy or opaque. There are also extralight variations with wide meshes or fabric effects, plus options paired with wooden veneered aluminum. Not every finish is available for every format, so the price list is the right reference when narrowing choices.
Comfort & Use
A pocket door earns its keep when it disappears smoothly. Sherazade Pocket is designed for integration with systems such as Scrigno Essential® sliding and Eclisse® Syntesis Line, so the action feels intentional and the doorway stays uncluttered. But it still delivers presence when closed, since the glass finish becomes part of the interior palette.
The double-door version adds a wider, more flexible opening, while the single door keeps things simple and compact. And with or without a lock, it suits spaces that need privacy at certain hours and openness the rest of the time.
Placement & Lifestyle
This door works best where swing space is precious and sightlines matter. It’s a strong fit for dressing rooms, studies, and suites, or anywhere a clean passage is preferred over a hinged leaf. Transparent and extralight finishes keep rooms visually connected; acid-etched, patterned, or lacquered glass can soften views without making spaces feel closed in.
Because the finish selection is extensive, Sherazade Pocket can match a calm, understated interior or support a more expressive material mix. The system stays discreet either way.
Longevity & Options
The combination of aluminum framing and tempered glass is inherently resilient, and the certified safety standards add confidence for long-term use. Subframes for plasterboard or brick walls can be provided on request, helping the installation align with different construction needs.
With clear configuration paths for one-way and two-way rail pocket systems, Sherazade Pocket by glasitalia stays adaptable across projects while keeping the same disciplined, architectural look.
