Aladin Swing Plain Mono

About Aladin Swing Plain Mono

Design

Aladin Swing Plain Mono is a swing door drawn with a clean, architectural line by Piero Lissoni. The frame is concealed, so the door reads as glass first, hardware second. And the pivot movement keeps the look precise, without the visual noise of traditional hinges.

One face of the door sits perfectly flush, while the other is gently set back from the perimeter aluminium frame. It’s a small detail, but it changes how light and reflections behave as the door opens and closes.

Materials & Build

The structure pairs an aluminium frame with glass applied on one side. The glass can be monolithic tempered at about 0.24 inches thick, or tempered laminated in a 0.12 + 0.12 inch build. Finishes span from transparent extralight to acid-etched, reflecting, lacquered glossy or opaque, fluted textures, and patterned options. Not every finish is available for every configuration, so selections should be confirmed against the price list.

Safety is treated as a given. All glass options are certified according to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150, keeping the visual lightness while meeting strict standards.

Everyday Use

Adjustable pivot hinges allow the door to be tuned for a clean swing and reliable alignment over time. The choice of lock is open, and the door can be fitted with either a handle or a knob, finished to match the frame so nothing feels like an afterthought.

For day-to-day contact points, the handle set is treated with a sanitizing varnish tested to ISO 22196:2011. It’s a practical layer of protection that supports a more hygienic surface without changing the feel in hand.

Placement & Lifestyle

The white painted aluminium subframe is invisible when the door is closed, keeping walls and openings looking calm and continuous. It is available for both cement walls and plasterboard, and it can be varnished during wall painting so the surrounding finish stays consistent.

There is also a version designed with the frame flush to the ceiling. It suits interiors that prefer long vertical lines and minimal interruptions, especially where the door is meant to blend into the architecture rather than compete with it.

Longevity

Built for repeated use, the system focuses on stable materials and adjustable components. Glassitalia keeps the construction disciplined: concealed frame, certified safety glass, and hinges that can be dialed in as the space settles.

In short, Aladin Swing Plain Mono is made to stay crisp over time, with finishes and hardware choices that let it fit quietly into both residential and professional interiors.
