Aladin Swing Plain Duo

About Aladin Swing Plain Duo

Design

Aladin Swing Plain Duo is a custom-made swing door designed by Piero Lissoni. It reads clean and architectural, with a concealed frame that keeps the line of the opening calm. The door can be specified as a single or double leaf, depending on the space and the kind of passage desired. And for projects that call for an even quieter ceiling line, it is also available with a frame that sits flush with the ceiling.

The look is intentionally plain in the best way. Glass stays central, while the structure stays discreet. It’s a door that can disappear when it needs to, or hold its own when the finish is chosen to make more of a statement.

Materials & build

The construction pairs tempered glass with an aluminum frame. Two sheets of glass, each 0.16 inches thick, are applied on both faces of the frame to create a defined volume with an internal air chamber. This detail gives the panel a more substantial presence than a single sheet, without turning it heavy in expression.

Finishes span from single-faced acid-etched glass to glossy, opaque, or reflective lacquered glass, along with reflecting transparent glass, patterned acid-etched options, extralight, fumè, bronzo, and mirror. Not every finish is available in every size, so final selection should follow the price list. The glass is certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150 safety standards.

Movement and daily use

Aladin Swing Plain Duo uses adjustable pivot hinge openings, allowing the swing action to be tuned during installation. The frame remains concealed, so the movement feels precise without drawing attention to the hardware.

Lock options can be configured to suit the project. The door can be specified with either a handle or a knob, coordinated to the frame finishes so nothing looks like an afterthought. But it still feels straightforward, like it belongs in the architecture rather than sitting on top of it.

Placement and lifestyle

This model works naturally in modern residential interiors, studios, and hospitality settings where light and separation need to coexist. It can define an entry to a dressing area, a private office, or a quieter zone off a main living space, while still keeping visual continuity.

The aluminum subframe is white painted and becomes invisible when the door is closed. It is available for both cement walls and plasterboard, and it can be varnished during wall painting, which helps it blend into the surrounding finish without extra steps.

Longevity and hygiene

The materials are chosen for stability and everyday resilience: tempered glass, aluminum, and a subframe designed to install cleanly in common wall types. The concealed frame approach also keeps edges and interruptions to a minimum, which tends to age well in busy interiors.

For high-touch areas, the handle set is treated with a special sanitizing varnish, tested to ISO 22196:2011. It counteracts bacterial overgrowth and supports a higher standard of surface cleanliness, a practical detail that matters in shared spaces. The piece comes from glasitalia with the kind of quiet technical confidence that doesn’t need to be loud.
